Q: We are considering a Japan/ China/ Far East cruise on Azamara Quest in early 2009 .Has anyone any experience of the ship? We have travelled with the "parent Co." Celebrity, usually in a Sky suite, but after an Austalia /New Zealand cruise on Mercury earlier this year, felt their standards were not as high as they once were. Does anyone have any direct comparison experience? Many thanks, Cynthia Setter.

We are booked on the Far East cruise on Azamara Quest 31st Jan 2009 - first time for us on this ship so are keeping our fingers crossed - sounded a good trip with two days in Hong Kong at beginning of cruise and three days in Beijing at the end. If you have decided to book (since I have only just found your message) hope you enjoy it. Wendy l4th December 08 Crawley West Sussex

Hello Cynthia, I am a lover of Azamara. Having been on all but the Mercury with Celebrity and enjoying them for many years I have converted to Azamara and currently have two cruises booked with them, one on each ship. Judging from our previous correspondence re. you know what, I am sure this is the ship and company for you. Trust me. ..... regards Neil

Oh Neil, I would trust you with my life!!!!Many thanks for your help; now I just have to persuade Mike that we can do an Azamara cruise next year in addition to the 2 we (OK, more accurately, I!) have already booked on Cunard. You may well hear the pained yelping from up there in S'oton!Cynthia.

I don't think you can really equate the Mercury, Celebrity's oldest ship, with Azamara Quest, a boutique, newly refurbished 5+* ship. Recent reviews of the Quest rave about the quality and variety of the food. Mercury does not even have an alternative restaurant whereas on the tiny Azamara there are two to choose between. In a Sky Suite you will also have the attention of the Head Butler, in addition to the usual Butler and stateroom attendent. With 3 people waiting on your every need you can't go wrong!

Click the review button on this site and then select your cruise line followed by ships name. Lots of first hand reviews there for you. Happy cruising. Richard
