Excellent start to the holiday, the embarkation was painless and well organized and the glass of champagne was very welcome,we have 17 cruises under our belt, and was disgruntled by the compulsory gratuities,as we always tip who and when we want, however i have to say that the service was excellent by all members on the ship, and you were made to feel special so we did not mind them in the end!.The food for carnivores was superb, but as a carrot cruncher there was only one choice on the menu and it was the same two nights running ,although described differently ,so after a moan the maitre de ,Marius Borcila made sure i had choices ever night so again excellent service. Our stateroom was superb a lot nicer then other cruises we have been on ,more luxurious , and our butler was very friendly and helpfull. We used room service and you could not fault it ,and the breakfast selection was immense compared to other lines. We went on the holyland cruise and we did tours in Israel and Egypt and we thought they were good value ,and very informative and we saw all we wanted to and the guides were very good. The azamara is the smallest ship we have been on and you spend longer in ports as you do not have to get loads of people on and off,and there was not one bad port ,the staff did not bother you on sea days as they do on other lines ,and everything you have on the larger ships is there on this one,The shows were good and the cruise directer was lovely and not stupid and giggly unlike others!.Sadly the holiday had to end but we enjoyed ever moment ,and wonderfull memories ,we will definitely sail again with azamara ,excellent!!!
