My husband & I have just returned from the Med on the Azamara Quest. Prior to this we had only travelled on the larger ships and approached this holiday with a little trepidation. No need for this as we found the Quest experience absolutely faultless and amazing. The ship had a very homely atmosphere and all the staff, including the officers were friendly and always there to help. Our balcony cabin was very well presented although the bathroom was a little small but the storage space was excellent with more of the old style hangers than I could use, unheard of before! We were given flowers in the cabin and fresh fruit was supplied daily and the cabin service menu was much larger and varied than any experienced before. The food aboard was amazing delicious & beautifully presented, far better than anything experienced before and we have travelled on most of the better cruise ships. There were 2 specialist restaurants also, one producing amazing fish dishes including lobster served in 3 different ways and the other serving the most delicious steaks. The ambience in these restaurants was completely different from each other and indeed from the main dining room. There were no formal nights and no fixed seating both things I had enjoyed in the past but actually found really relaxing. Amazingly so on a smaller ship, there was no queuing at all neither for the self service food nor the tenders. Entertainment was, of course, a little limited as there was only one main show theatre where they gave the occasional cinema performance on a small screen but the guest entertainers were excellent and there were other areas where music/dancing took place. This is certainly a cruise experience I would want to repeat again and again.
